[Fuck what Oikawa is and isn’t okay with. Iwaizumi is his own person capable of making his own decisions, and Oikawa can catch a headbutt to the face if he has a problem with that.]
tobio has to calm his chest and his face and the fluttering feeling in his stomach, but it's difficult when he reads those latter words over and over again.
At the park close to the Kageyama residence, Tobio waits for Iwaizumi for their early morning hangout. They're at the coattails of winter during this time of the year, so mornings are still quite chilly and misty, which is the reason why Tobio's donning a light windbreaker and joggers. There are a few elderly people milling around the park as well, doing their own morning routines: gentle exercises and stretches. But other than that, it's pretty quiet as Tobio waits.
Since it's still a little early from their agreed meet-up time, Tobio decides to do some light warm-ups with his volleyball. He tosses it over his head a couple of times, which impresses one of the elderly grandmas, who silently watches and claps for him. ]
[Of course the little nerd would already be practicing by the time Iwaizumi shows up - he'd expect no less from one of his freakish little kohai. Iwaizumi takes advantage of the distraction that comes from Kageyama's self-setting to plant a friendly foot on his ass and shove him a little from behind in greeting.]
Morning, loser.
[And now, the noogies, as promised (at least in Iwaizumi's mind it was a promise).]
[ Oof. The unceremonious shove against his backside has Tobio almost toppling over. He's about to yell at whoever did it but when he realizes it was Iwaizumi, his mouth snaps shut. ]
Senpai. [ He whines over the noogying. Damn. Even when Tobio's grown slightly taller than Iwaizumi, the older man still treats him like a kid.
When he's let go, Tobio shakes his head - much like a dog would in order to get his hair back into place. ] Morning. [ He grumbles with a small pout, before passing his volleyball over to Iwaizumi. ] How has your week been, senpai?
[Iwaizumi is grinning as he pulls away from the vicious noogie session, but then puts on a casual look as he starts setting the ball above his head instead. He's not a proper setter, but it's a habit that plenty of players pick up.]
Busy. We're getting ready to kick your sorry ass at Spring Prelims.
[It's instinct that leads Iwaizumi to want to counter Kageyama's assertion, but he can't help but be a little proud of the kid when he so clearly says "my team" instead of "I". It's such a small thing that Tobio himself might not even realize it, Iwaizumi thinks, but it's a clear show of progress in a short amount of time.
[Say what you will about Karasuno - they're rivals, and they're going down - but they've been good for Kageyama, and Iwaizumi won't sneeze at that. He easily returns the pass.]
Don't think meeting up with you like this means I'm about to go easy on you.
