Yeah, yeah. See you then, dweeb.

[Of course the little nerd would already be practicing by the time Iwaizumi shows up - he'd expect no less from one of his freakish little kohai. Iwaizumi takes advantage of the distraction that comes from Kageyama's self-setting to plant a friendly foot on his ass and shove him a little from behind in greeting.]

Morning, loser.

[And now, the noogies, as promised (at least in Iwaizumi's mind it was a promise).]
bluecastleace: (he chill he good)

[Iwaizumi is grinning as he pulls away from the vicious noogie session, but then puts on a casual look as he starts setting the ball above his head instead. He's not a proper setter, but it's a habit that plenty of players pick up.]

Busy. We're getting ready to kick your sorry ass at Spring Prelims.

[He tosses the ball back in Tobio's direction.]

[It's instinct that leads Iwaizumi to want to counter Kageyama's assertion, but he can't help but be a little proud of the kid when he so clearly says "my team" instead of "I". It's such a small thing that Tobio himself might not even realize it, Iwaizumi thinks, but it's a clear show of progress in a short amount of time.

[Say what you will about Karasuno - they're rivals, and they're going down - but they've been good for Kageyama, and Iwaizumi won't sneeze at that. He easily returns the pass.]

Don't think meeting up with you like this means I'm about to go easy on you.
bluecastleace: (spike shot)

thank you for RPing the grandma too

[Look at that. A proper set. Kageyama's skills are undeniable, even in a casual toss about like this. He's always understood what Oikawa found so threatening - not that he'd choose another partner over him for anything - but having Kageyama set for him for the first time in a few years just goes to show him how much the kid has improved.

[It's remarkably easy to meet it with a positively vicious spike. He'll show Kageyama how he's improved too.]

[That's right. Your senpai is a bad ass. Recognize. He takes the pass and begins setting the ball over his head the way Kageyama had been doing when he first approached.]

So, we got a net to work with, or what?
bluecastleace: (mmm)

[personal profile] bluecastleace 2021-03-17 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well, a net is a net. Iwaizumi raises a brow at it even so. Then he does a basketball chest pass at Kageyama with the volleyball just to throw him off.]

Catch that one.

[And then he makes his way over to the net, calling over his shoulder as he crosses to the other side of it.]

We should have grabbed someone to toss for us. You're gonna have to do it yourself. Think you can handle that?

[No one serves up a ball like Oikawa, but that doesn't mean Kageyama's serve isn't impressive. Iwaizumi dives to receive it and does manage to hit it, but he's not able to get the right angle on it quickly enough, and it goes out of bounds rather than over the net.

[He looks briefly frustrated, but then lets out a breathless laugh as he jogs to retrieve the ball.]

Not bad, asshole. [This is said with fondness as he scoops the ball back up, then tosses it toward Kageyama.]

Send me another. And don't back down.
bluecastleace: (lookin out)

[It's true. Kageyama's second serve is even more powerful than the first, but Iwaizumi is used to one on one practice with Oikawa, and now that he knows what to expect, he dives to meet the ball and sends it easily back over, then leaps up to prepare himself for the next volley.]
